Gabriel Cal

Hello! I’m Gabriel Cal. 

I am proudly Belizean and of Mopan-Maya descent; one of the three Mayan groups to be found in Belize (Mopan, Kekchi, and Yucatec).The Mopan Maya are native  to Southern Belize and Guatemala.

Both my parents  are  from San Antonio Village, Toledo District, Belize. 

I was born in Steadfast Village; on the Hummingbird Highway; where my childhood was short.  In 1999 at age 7, my life changed drastically when we made our way to Belize City making it our new home. 

Many years later, I was given the opportunity  to join in Tourism. I didn’t hesitate, as I knew it would  open a new world for me. 

I have been with the company since its beginnings as MUNDO MAYA, ZIPPY ZAPPY MAYAN TRAVELS and to date. 

I have gained a lot of experience throughout the years, met different people from around the world, and can truly say that I am passionate about my work and making people happy while they live their traveling adventure. 

CURRENTLY

Currently, I am the Operations Manager, as well as involved in Sales Marketing online & Travel Concierge  here at MayanOZ Travels . 

My heritage as a Mopan Maya deeply influences, who I am and what I do. I am passionate about sharing and preserving the vibrant traditions and culture of my people. Through my work, I strive to connect our clients with the beauty of my country, ensuring they have unforgettable travel experiences.

My philosophy is work hard, have fun, make history and give yourself something to work towards constantly. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.
